About

US

OUR STORY

At our core, we are travellers. We were all born with it. We have traversed far and wide and returned all changed over and over again. Through our footsteps we have become the people we are, and through our ongoing adventures we are still becoming ourselves. Footsteps of Livingstone gives us the ability to share that experience with you.

Through decades of leaving our footsteps on Africa, we have discovered the stories of our most beloved destinations: the hidden waterhole in the teak forest, the view provided if you take that less travelled road in the Zambezi National Park or the unknown waterfall on the Masampa river. What we’ve found is that as we travel the world, we discover our stories. We wish to brand your footprints on our journeys, as to share with you our knowledge and secrets we have been gathering for decades.

Chris and Liz Worden

CHRIS & LIZ WORDEN

Liz Worden - Managing Partner and Safari specialist

Liz moved to Zimbabwe at 6 months old from England and qualified as a state registered nurse in 1983. She moved to Victoria Falls where she ran her own safari company, including a lodge and horse trails until 2006, when the family moved to Kwa-zulu Natal in South Africa.

Liz has raised several wild animals including elephant, warthog, impala and a multitude of birds. Today, Liz lives in Victoria Falls with her lovely well fed animals which include a total of 12 cats! Liz enjoys horse riding, reading, game viewing and caring for animals.

Chris Worden - Managing Partner, Professional Safari Guide/Safari Specialist and Raconteur

Born in Masvingo near Great Zimbabwe, Chris has lived in remoter spots most of his life. His early interest in wildlife led to a career with the Department of National Parks in 1980. Chris qualified as a Professional Guide in 1986.

One of the “old school” guides in Zimbabwe, Chris has led many safaris through Southern African including Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Malawi, and further afield in Uganda, Congo, Gabon and Madagascar and now lives in Victoria Falls.

Chris is a keen historian and raconteur, and he offers stories on the life of Dr David Livingstone, the famous Scottish Missionary Explorer who “discovered” the Victoria Falls in November 1855, to tour groups visiting the Victoria Falls.

He also collects first editions of the early African explorer’s books, and is fortunate to have one of the largest private collections, including a signed first presentation edition of David Livingstone’s “Missionary Travels”, published in 1857.

Shaun Read

SHAUN READ

Shaun Read - Marketing Executive

Born and raised in Victoria Falls, Shaun spent majority of his life in the African bush with a keen passion for all fauna and flora alike. He found himself attracted to the combination of wildlife, tourism and business. Therefore, he went on and studied a BA (Honours) of Business Enterprise and Entrepreneurship at Oxford Brookes University and moved back to Victoria Falls as soon as he finished. If Shaun is not in the office you will usually find him out in the bush doing what he loves, wildlife photography and conservation.
